Biggest Debate On Safeguard Duty With Solar Industry Experts

DGTR recently recommended imposing 25% safeguard duty on solar cells imports to protect domestic players from steep rise in the inbound shipments of the product.

It is said that if it is accepted by the government, could lead to a steep hike in power costs.

Also Renewable minister R K Singh in a written reply to the Lok Sabha citing a report from DGTR informed that the quantum of imported cells/ modules is around 90 per cent.
