Ather Energy’s this manufacturing plant video will flabbergast the EV world

Electric Scooter Startup Ather Energy has started operations at 123000 sq. ft all-new production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu as its plans to sell over 1 lakh scooters by the end of 2022.

With this all new facility the company aims 10000 scooters every month (with potential to grow that number exponentially).

The company has recently uploaded a video showcasing the mega-factory, believe us you will be flabbergasted. The all new facility will serve as the national manufacturing hub for the company.

Ather Energy’s expansion comes at a time when electric two wheelers are picking up pace, as the big players joins the bandwagon. Big automakers like Bajaj Auto Ltd. and TVS Motors Ltd has already launched their electric scooters last year, and Hero MotoCorp Ltd an investor in Ather is also gearing up with launch EV two-wheeler .

Apart from the EV manufacturing, the facility will also focus on lithium-ion battery manufacturing which is a key area of focus for Ather Energy going ahead. The facility has the capacity to produce 120,000 battery packs annually. Ather Energy is the only EV OEM in India to make its own battery packs, and has filed 13 patents on the design and manufacturing of the li-ion batteries. The 2.9 kWh battery of Ather 450X uses 21700 type li-ion cells giving the battery a high energy density, charge and discharge rates enabling fast charging and high performance.

Environment Friendly Facility

Ather in a statement said that there is zero effluent generated from the factory. All E-wastes are handled by Authorized Recyclers and there is zero water discharge because of inhouse STP & treated water circulation to flush & plantation.
