Bosch signs MoU with NITC on electric vehicles

Bosch India recently signed an MoU with NIT Calicut (NITC) for collaborative research on electric vehicle-associated technologies.

Dr. Sivaji Chakravorti, director, NITC, and Pradeep Kumar, head of engineering-electrification, BOSCH India, officially signed the MoU.

Under the MoU Bosch will provide placement, internship projects and hands on training to the students of NIT Calicut, while NIT Calicut will provide EV technologies to get industrialized.

NITC in a statement said “It’s the responsibility of engineers, scientists, technocrats to develop low cost, high efficient electric vehicle transportation solutions to the general public at affordable prices,” further added “Understanding the requirements, NITC has already started research and projects in developing EV technologies.  DC to DC converter topologies, battery power management solutions, power train drives are some of the challenging areas where NITC has already started working.”

The department of electrical engineering, NITC on March 15 and 16 on the campus organized a two-day national workshop on EV technologies in association with Robert Bosch, Mathworks India Ltd, IEEE PES Society –NITC student chapter to “delve into the future of electric vehicle”.

Workshops with technical expert sessions on various areas of electrification of vehicle like design, safety and control by eminent speakers from IITs/NITs, Robert Bosch and Mathworks India Ltd., also was held.

NITC registrar Lt. Col. (Retd.) K. Pankajakshan,  Srijai, DGM, BOSCH, Prasanth Pathiyil, senior technical expert, Dr. Ashok S., dean (research and consultancy, NIT Calicut) Dr Saly George, head, and  Dr. Kumaravel S., assistant professor, electrical engineering department, NITC were also present.
