E-mobility now part of BHEL Trichy’s business portfolio: Report

 

BHEL Trichy has reportedly added e-mobility to its business portfolio. According to TOI the company has already started the process of prototype development and obtaining necessary certifications to foray into e-mobility segment to capitalise on the emerging business opportunities.

During the Independence Day celebrations R Rajamanohar, executive director, BHEL Trichy shared the policy discussion.

The publication citing official sources noes that BHEL would aggressively focus on revamping its infrastructure and operations to produce e-mobility products.

To address the growing needs in the mass transportation sector of e-mobility, the company may take up large scale production of non-conventional vehicles by utilising its expertise in heavy engineering and fabrication sectors notes the publication in its report. “

BHEL Trichy is reorganising and redeploying resources in line with the corporate strategic plan to increase the current share of non-coal business from 30% to 50% in the next five years, said Rajamanohar.

BHEL’s welding research institute is expected to play significant role in the company’s foray into e-mobility sector.
