The government is gearing up to bring fast charging electric vehicle stations in the National Capital soon. According to ET the government is setting up setting up infrastructure for electric vehicles in some busy areas of Delhi where cars can be recharged for as low as Rs 30 for a 15-minute top-up.
Saurabh Kumar, managing director, Energy Efficiency Services (EESL) speaking to the publication said “We will set up fast-charging stations in public parking spaces and high-visibility areas. When people see chargers at various locations, it takes care of the range anxiety issues,”
The publication notes that a 15-minutes charge will allow a range of 22 km while it will take 90 minutes to fully charge a vehicle.
EESL will be setting up 84 such fast charging electric vehicle stations by March-end at different places in Delhi including Khan Market and Yashwant Place. The report further states that users will be able to charge with a mobile app, ElectriFi, and even book a time slot.

In the first phase fast-charging electric vehicle stations will be equipped with Bharat DC-001, which is compatible with Tata Motors and Mahindra’s electric vehicles.
Space and interconnection facility will also be made available accommodate European CCS and Japan’s CHAdeMO in each station.
Initially 15 KW chargers will be installed in the capital which is compatible with electric two and three wheelers. However, by second half of the years when foreign automakers are expected to bring their own EVs in the country the company will equip these stations with the remaining standards,
