SunFuel Electric has joined hands with a leading hospitality company, IHG Hotels & Resorts, to provide captive EV Charging Stations across IHG properties in the country.

The MoU signing ceremony took place on 23rd November 2021 at the Crown Plaza Gurgaon and saw attendance from industry stalwarts who promote electric mobility and support sustainability.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, Southwest Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Gul Panag, Co-Founder & Head of Partnerships and Community, SunFuel Electric signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts said, “We are delighted to partner with SunFuel and provide EV charging facility to our guests across our hotels in India. This partnership is in line with our commitment to help shape the future of responsible travel and make a positive difference for our planet. We look forward to welcoming our guests who drive electric vehicles to our properties across the country and offer them the ‘true hospitality’ that we are known for.”

Sudhir Nayak, Founder & CEO of SunFuel Electric said, “Destination Charging is key to catalyze the adoption of high-end EVs in India. At SunFuel we are enabling hotels in all popular destinations in India with seamless EV Charging. We believe this will encourage adoption of electric cars amongst people and make electric mobility cool and aspirational. This is really needed if we don’t want people to visualize only two/three wheelers, rikshaws and delivery-vehicles when they visualize the word EV. We want them to think of EVs as fun-to-drive cars with a go-anywhere capability. However, they will adopt only when they see seamless charging in their favourite destinations like IHG Hotels, and not only on petrol pumps!”

Gul Panag, Co-Founder & Head of Partnerships and Community, SunFuel Electric added, “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together. We have just started our march/drive towards our environmental goals, and we have a long way to go. We are building and empowering a warm community of planet-conscious adventurers to create some happy memories. Exploring paths new and old in a brand-new sustainable way. As a 7-year strong EV user I hope for our e-trails to emerge and dissipate the myth of range anxiety. Exploring the deepest parts of the country to the most far-flung areas of the nation with the same ease and comfort as a grocery run around the block. We hope that Destination charging, and our E-trails give us uninhibited access to destinations beyond the fossil fuel network. New destinations are calling, and we EV users are answering that call.”
