ANDRITZ wins contract of over Euro 50 million for hydropower project in Jammu and Kashmir

ANDRITZ has bagged a contract worth over Euro 50 million from Chenab Valley Power Projects for supplying the complete electro-mechanical equipment for the run-of-the-river Kiru hydropower plant in Jammu & Kashmir.

The 624 Megawatt project is located on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district.

Chenab Valley Power Projects is a joint venture company between state-owned NHPC Ltd, JKSPDC, a governemnt of J&K undertaking, and power trader PTC India Ltd.

ANDRITZ in a statement said “The company received the contract through tough competition carried out through an international competitive bidding process. The Project would generate 2,272.02 million units in a 90 per cent dependable year.”

The contract include design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of four turbines and generators, associated accessories and auxiliaries, auxiliary electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, 400 kV GIS and 400 kV outdoor pothead yard equipment.

It will be executed by ANDRITZ’s Indian subsidiary with its manufacturing facilities in Mandideep, near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, and Prithla, near Faridabad, in Haryana.
