Bangalore International Airport goes green inaugurating rooftop solar power plant

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) recently inaugurated 3.35MW rooftop solar power plant.

The solar power plant is installed across 8 rooftops within the airport premises at Menzies Bobba, Air India SATS, Coolport and several BIAL office buildings reports ET.

This solar plant is expected to generate 4.7 million units of green power for Bengaluru airport.

According to the official statement, the contemporary design of the solar panels has been kept in mind to ensure that the glare of the sun is not reflected in a bid to avoid any visibility interruptions in aircraft operations.

The rooftop solar power developer’s team has ensured that the solar structure is lightweight, leak proof, corrosion free and can withstand high wind conditions with ease.
