Chandigarh administration has reportedly extended deadline for solar rooftop plant installation to November 17.
In 2016 Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST) had set May 6, 2018, as the deadline for installing solar plants at residential and industrial buildings, which now has been extended says ET.
Installation of solar rooftop of 1 kwp capacity on buildings measuring between 500 square yards and 999 square yards has been made mandatory, while 2 kwp solar rooftop has to be installed on the building measuring between 1,000 square yards and 2,999 square yards. For buildings that are 3,000 square yards or more in size, a 3 kwp solar plant is a must.
So far on only 167 houses and in 14 commercial buildings has installed solar plants.
