Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated 1500 KW Dunav hydro power project in Pauri Garhwal district of the state. The hydro power project has been constructed on Nayar river in the remote Beerokhal block of Pauri Garhwal district.
“Dunav hydro power project would be a milestone in the development of the region,” said Trivendra Singh Rawat while addressing a gathering on the inauguration ceremony. He added that the hydro power project would be named after martyr Ram Prasad Nautiyal.
The project would benefit as many as 55 villages, including Simli, Kanda, Pali and Beerokhal, adding it would generate employment and help check migration from the region.
He said efforts were being made to complete the construction of several mini hydro power projects in the state. The CM also directed the officials concerned to prepare a proposal for Lakwar Vyas hydro power project. He said subsidies were being given to companies for setting up mini hydro power projects in the state.
He also appealed to the educated youth to take benefit from self-employment generating schemes of the state government. Referring to the ex-servicemen, Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat reiterated the state government’s commitment to their welfare. He further stated that the government was mulling proposal to use the services of retired doctors in the state.
