Minister for Medium & Heavy Industries Government of Karnataka, R.V. Deshpande has reportedly invited Maruti Suzuki and Honda Cars India to set up their electric vehicle (EV) facility in Karnataka.
According to ET the Minister has written separate letters to Maruti chairman R.C. Bhargava, and Honda Cars CEO Yoichiro Ueno.
He said Karnataka already has an electric vehicle policy in place. The minister mentioned about the availability of land and facilities at industrial clusters in Hosakote, Bidadi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Shivamogga and Belagavi . He further added that firms automakers such as Volvo, Telco, BEML, TVS, Honda, L& T Komatsu and Toyota Kirloskar are already have a presence in the State.
