Ecoppia announced the completion of additional 3 deployments in the Bhadla region, which consists of a 2,255 MW Bhadla Solar Park, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan India.
The three sites were developed by Ostro Energy, a renewable energy platform backed by emerging markets-focused private equity Actis Capital.
The sites are located at Kethusar, Kanasar and Badisid in Jodhpur district in Rajasthan, a water deficient region that suffers from frequent and massive dust storms. (Read ENGIE Group’s Site in Bhadla Park in Rajasthan is Now Cleaned by Ecoppia Water-free Robotic Solution)
In line with Ostro’s ethos on water conservation, the company chose Ecoppia’s state-of-art system for module cleaning to ensure zero water usage at the plant.
With the deployment of Ecoppia across its sites, Ostro Energy is expected to save over 0.5 billion of liters of water and reduce its operating expenses drastically.
Leveraging the unparalleled experience gained working with leading energy companies in India such as SunEdison/TerraForm, Engie Group, Fortum and NTPC, cleaning over 200 million solar panels, Ecoppia’s solution will ensure no soiling loss through the project’s lifetime.
The announcement also comes on the heels of Ecoppia’s recent announcement on the completion of a large-scale deployment with ENGIE in the Bhadla park.
“We expect to harness Ecoppia’s revolutionary cleaning system to dramatically raise output and lower costs.” said Ranjit Gupta, CEO of Ostro Energy. “We are convinced that adopting breakthrough technologies like Ecoppia is the key for coping with the challenging market conditions” he concluded.
“The unparalleled experience gained in India, and in Rajasthan desert in specific over the last 3 years will enable us to completely eliminate soiling losses in Ostro projects, while offering overall lower O&M costs” said Eran Meller, CEO of Ecoppia. “The market now fully realize that Ecoppia is a key enabler to solar expansion and adoption in Rajasthan” he continued.
