Nexant, a global provider of software enabled solutions to the utility and energy industries, has announced the opening of its new office in Pune, India. The new office opened on July 16th and will accommodate the company’s rapid development in the energy sector.
The company currently has 25 offices across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The India office will strengthen it’s growing presence in Southeast Asia, an emerging market for energy infrastructure and management.
“This is an important milestone for Nexant. We have successfully completed several USAID-funded clean energy programs in India – the most recent one was the six-year Partnership to Advance Clean Energy – Deployment Technical Assistance Program which ended in May 2018. The launch of our Indian office reaffirms our commitment to the region and provides us an opportunity to leverage the talent and network we’ve already established,” said John Gustafson, CEO of Nexant.
The India office will help expand Nexant’s product portfolio, initially focusing on software development and testing for Nexant iEnergy, a proprietary end-to-end business process management platform for utilities.
“The location of the India office has been strategically selected to leverage the city’s highly skilled workforce and talent pool. Pune is home to a number of information technology businesses and provides an ideal environment to grow and develop our iEnergy products and services,” said Upendra Kane, General Manager and Director, Nexant India Private Ltd.
With the opening of the new office, Nexant projects increased revenue growth from its product division as it expands global reach and taps into underserved markets.
