NTPC’s research wing NETRA signed a MoU with Central Institute of Plastics engineering & Technology (CIPET) will work together to accelerate the renewable energy drive by establishing technological framework for production of floaters for floating solar PV projects.
The pact aims to establish the technology for production of floaters for multi-Megawatt scale floating solar photovoltaic plants.
The company in a statement said “NTPC-NETRA and CIPET team will be working together towards building comprehensive quality plans, to increase the vendor base and capacity building in the area of floater production and maintenance technologies.”
The company further added that it is dedicated to generate reliable energy at competitive prices in a sustained manner employing a mix of energy sources and using innovative eco-friendly technologies.
NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance’s R&D efforts are guided by a Research Advisory Council (RAC) comprising scientists and other experts.
NETRA focuses on areas of efficiency improvement and cost reduction; new and renewable energy; climate change and environmental protection including water conservation, ash utilization, waste management and advanced scientific services.
