British automaker Lotus Cars is reportedly planning to go electric with the launch of $2.5 million1, 000 hp hypercar. The company is expected to introduce the hypercar in the coming months.

Autocar reports that the vehicle is codenamed ‘Omega’ and will compete against the likes of supercars like the McLaren P1, LaFerrari and the Bugatti Chiron.

The all new hypercar is expected to come with some impressive features to justify the USD 2 million-plus price tag.

Louts was manufacturing partner with Tesla and had early involvement in electrification through its manufacturing partnership with Tesla, , however it failed to do much under its own brand since that fell through during the last decade says electrek.

Chinese multinational automotive manufacturing company Geely is taking a majority stake in the company, they are expected to accelerate their efforts to go electric.
