Reliance Infrastructure-owned power discoms BSES Yamuna (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani (BRPL) announced that they have signed an agreement with SECI for sourcing 200 Megawatt (100 MW power each) at a rate of Rs 2.84 per unit for the next 25 years.
The power is expected to be available to the discoms from 2020-21 for 25 years at Rs 2.84 per unit, including the trading margin reports TOI.
The power will be procured though SECI, which will act as an intermediary procurer, the company said in a statement.
“Renewable energy is critical for sustainable growth and BSES is alive to it while ensuring there is minimal burden on the consumers. This allocation of wind power is once again a testament to our efforts,” said BSES in a statement.
The latest agrrement takes the total quantum of wind energy tied-up by the discoms to 600 Mw.
The company further stated that the tariff under the latest agreement is among the lowest for wind power and is substantially lower than the average cost of long-term PPAs at around Rs 4.5 per unit.
