CleanMax Solar has announced that it has installed a rooftop solar power plant with a capacity of 736 kilowatt (KW) in Mandoli Jail. The rooftop solar project is part of the company’s 2.5-megawatt contract with Delhi government’s power generation arm Indraprastha Power Generation.
“The installation will save Rs 51.5 lakh per annum for the jail and reduce carbon dioxide emission of 1,618 tonnes annually, equivalent to removing 200 passenger vehicles from the road for the next 25 years,” CleanMax Solar said in a statement.
The company will provide solar power to Mandoli jail complex through the ‘Pay-as-you-go’ or OPEX model at a tariff of about 50 per cent cheaper than the existing grid electricity tariff, CleanMax added.
