The German Transport Ministry is reportedly looking to increase and prolong subsidies for buying electric vehicles (EVs). Sources familiar with the development told Reuters about the Ministry’s plan.
The German government wanted to double to 4,000 euros ($4,495.60) its contribution to subsidies for electric cars with a value of up to 30,000 euros said the sources to the agency.
For electric cars worth up to 60,000 euros, the government wants to raise its subsidy contribution to 2,500 euros from 2,000 euros, the sources said.
They said the subsidies would run until the mid-2020s.
