Himachal Pradesh has signed couple of agreements to set up solar power plants with an outlay of Rs 1,000 crore. The solar power plants would be set up in Una and Kangra districts.
The first agreement of Rs 600 crore for 150 MW solar plant was signed with Renew Energy Private Ltd , it is proposed to commission by 2021, while the second agreement was signed for 100 MW solar power plant with CSE Development (India) Private Ltd.
The agreements were signeby Principal Secretary Prabodh Saxena on behalf of the state government; Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was also present on the occasion.
Thakur speaking to the news agency IANS said the state would facilitate the companies to obtain permissions and clearances from authorities at the earliest so that work on these projects could be started soon. He further added that the state aims to tap 776 MW solar power by 2022.
