- Adani Green Energy with 600 megawatt emerged as the largest winner in the 1200 megawatt solar wind hybrid auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The company bagged 600MW at a tariff of INR 2.41 per unit. A-B-C Renewable Energy, and A-M-P Energy won 380 megawatt and 130 megawatt respectively at the same tariff. Acme Solar bagged 90 megawatt at a tariff of INR 2.42 per unit.
- Bharat Forge has announced that it has made an additional investment of INR2.87 crore to use the remaining 8.20 megawatts solar power from Avaada SataraMH Private Limited. The company has agreed to use a total of 40.70 megawatts solar power from A-S-P-L.
- MSEDCL has reportedly floated solar bids for 6,500 MW in three years. However, it received bids for only 1,873 MW and it was able to sign agreements for only 527 MW, which is less than 10% of the sought capacity reports Times Of India.
- The rooftop solar regulation proposed in draft notification released recently by Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission is expected to derail the growth of the segment says the industry experts , the experts cites that the tariff incentives enjoyed by such projects will be unavailable.
- The National Green Tribunal on Wednesday directed the Centre through the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change and other states to install ‘Bird Diverters’ on existing solar and wind power lines as soon as possible and preferably within four months.
- Amplus Solar is reportedly looking at more acquisitions before the end of the current financial year. , Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Amplus Solar speaking to E-T Energy world said that the company is open to to acquisitions and are looking at good quality utility projects.
- The Industry body CII has urged the Ministry of Finance in its memorandum submitted to impose the basic custom duty on solar equipment as announced in the last general budget, stressing that the delay in implementation is impacting investments.
- Solar power tariff has dropped to an all-time low of INR 1.99 per unit in an auction of projects of 500 MW capacity by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. NTPC, Torrent Power, Saudi Arabian firm Al Jomaih Energy and Water Co. and Aditya Birla Renewable emerged as the lowest bidders by quoting INR 1.99 per unit tariff under the auction.
