Adani Renewable Energy wins 3 gigawatt , NTPC 600 megawatt solar projects in Andhra Pradesh
Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve Limited, arm of Adani Green Energy Limited won five mega solar power projects of 600 megawatt each in the bidding held by Andhra Pradesh Green Energy Corporation Ltd for awarding 6.4 Gw of ultra mega solar projects. State-owned NTPC limited won 600 megawatt in the auction .
LONGi launches new 66C type Hi-MO 4m module for global distributed generation market
LONG has officially launched its new 66C type Hi-MO 4 monofacial PV module for the global distributed generation market. With an area of about 2 m2 , weight of 22kg and power of 410-420W, the new module can be widely used on rooftops in residential, industrial and commercial applications, said the company in a statement.
Government hikes duty on solar invertors, lamps; holds back basic custom duty on solar equipment in Budget 2021
The government on in its Budget 2021 proposed to raise import duty on solar inverters and lanterns or lamps but did not go ahead with its plan to impose basic custom duty on solar equipment across the board to boost domestic manufacturing. The Solar Power Developers Association had urged the government to hold back its plan to impose basic custom duty (BCD) on solar equipment for time being in view of India’s ambitious target of having 175GW of renewables by 2022, which include 100GW of solar power.
Andhra Pradesh’s largest floating solar project will come up in Visakhapatnam says a report
Andhra Pradesh’s largest floating solar project will reportedly be commissioned in Visakhapatnam by the end of the fiscal. Once complete, the project will be one of the largest renewable energy installations in the country says Times Of India. NTPC Limited’s Simhadri super thermal power plant is executing the project at a cost of Rs 110 crore.
Green Genius will invest more than EUR 100 million in solar parks in Poland
Green Genius is the developer that won the most projects, a total of 79 megawatt, at the auctions held in November and December 2020. Under the new contracts, Green Genius will install two solar power plants of 8 megawatt and 63 plants of 1 megawatt in different regions of Poland. Investment in these projects will amount to EUR 57 million. In addition, this year Green Genius will install solar power plants of 32 megawatt, under market conditions, and sell the energy to various companies.
Budget for 2021-22 provides Budgetary allocation of INR 2,606 crore for the solar power sector
The Budget 2021has provided a Budgetary allocation of INR 2,606 crore for the solar power sector, including both grid-interactive and off-grid projects which is 66.41 per cent higher than INR 1,566 crore provided in the Revised Estimate for 2020-21. The Budget has also provided for Central Financial Assistance for capacity addition of 7,500 megawatt of solar power in 2021-22.
MPUVNL increases capacity of bids for solar power to 300 megawatt fom 100 MW under PM-KUSUM program
The Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) has increased bids capacity for solar projects from 100 MW to 300 MW under Component A of PM-KUSUM program.
Total extends U.S. solar portfolio acquiring 2.2 gigawatts of solar projects in Texas
Total has announced that it had bought 2.2 gigawatts of solar projects in Texas, adding to a rush of acquisitions elsewhere this year. Total is looking to wean itself off a reliance on oil and plans to market more electricity to clients. It aims to add some 10 gigawatts in renewable energy production capacity a year and to reach 35 gigawatts by 2025.

SECI inviting consultancy service for 100 megawatt solar project with battery energy storage system
Solar Energy Corporation India (SECI) has floated tender inviting consultancy services for a 100 megawatt solar project with a 40 megawatt /120 MWh battery energy storage system in Chhattisgarh. The last date for submission of bids is March 19, 2021.
