Waaree Energies launches Waaree Prime App
Waaree Energies has launched a first-of-its-kind app named Waaree Prime, to engage and gratify the EPC companies associated with it. Currently, Waaree has a strength of 5,000 EPC partners across India. The company endeavors to stretch its wings through this app to penetrate a larger geographical radius, expanding its community to reach 10,000 EPC companies in a year, a company statement said.
Lightsource BP soon to build 1.35 GW of solar projects in Portugal
Lightsource BP has partnered with Portuguese firm Insun to build five large-scale solar plants in Portugal with a total capacity of 1.35 Gigawatts, envisaging an investment of 900 million euros over the next six years. the projects in the regions of Moura, Castelo Branco, Mogadouro, Chamusca and Viseu were in an initial development phase. Once operational, they will be onstream for 30 years.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy sanctions 19,000 solar street lights for Jammu and Kashmir
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy MNRE has sanctioned 19,000 solar street lights to Jammu and Kashmir, where the J&K Energy Development Agency has already installed 2,200 such lights so far, officials said. The solar street light project has a central financial support of Rs 42.06 crore against the total project cost of Rs 47.84 crore with the remaining project cost of Rs 5.78 crore to be provided by the Union Territory.
India added over 2 GW grid-connected solar capacity in Q1 of 2021 says Bridge to India
India added 2,105 megawatt of grid-connected solar power generation capacity in the first quarter of 2021, as the first wave of COVID-19 subsided and construction pace picked up gradually. This took the total installed capacity to 44,241 MW by 31 March 2021, according to a recent report by Bridge to India. It added that utility-scale solar installations increased by more than 33 per cent quarter-on-quarter in Q1 2021. According to the report, the new capacity addition was split between utility-scale solar and rooftop solar, at 1,735 MW and 370 MW, respectively.
IREDA floats tender for setting up solar PV module manufacturing units
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has floated tender inviting bids for setting up solar PV module manufacturing units under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. The last date for application submission is 30 June, 2021 and bids will open on 1 July 2021
