Strategic Collaboration to Install 12 Charging Points Across Key Locations in Kanpur
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL) has inked a Memorandum of Association with Kanpur Municipal Corporation to deploy 12 EV charging stations across strategic locations in the city. This collaboration aims to reshape Kanpur’s EV infrastructure and promote sustainable mobility. The charging stations will be strategically positioned, including key areas like Krishna Nagar, Sen Para Police Chauki, Moti Jheel Parking, Gol Chouraha near Medical College, and Children’s Park near OEF. Each location will feature two charging guns, totaling 12 points accessible via the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app.
The initiative aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s plan to establish EV charging stations and drive e-mobility adoption. Mr. Virendra Goyal, Head – Business Development (EV Charging), Tata Power, emphasized the significance of the partnership in making electric mobility easily accessible in Kanpur. Municipal Commissioner Shri. Shivasharanappa G N highlighted Tata Power’s role in advancing Kanpur’s green energy goals and accelerating the city’s transition to a sustainable future.
Kanpur Municipal Corporation and Tata Power’s collaboration contributes to the State government’s broader strategy, extending beyond Kanpur to cities like Agra, Lucknow, and Prayagraj. The ambitious plan includes 400 charging stations in National and State parks, supporting the UP government’s vision of public charging stations every three kilometers in cities. Tata Power’s commitment mirrors its nationwide efforts, playing a pivotal role in realizing Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious EV vision.
