IT giant achieves double “A” ranking in climate change and water security transparency by CDP.
Tech Mahindra, a leading provider of digital transformation solutions, has secured a double “A” leadership ranking in corporate transparency and performance on climate change and water security by CDP, a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system. This achievement makes Tech Mahindra the only Indian company to receive this prestigious dual recognition, solidifying its position as a sustainability champion in the region.
“Tech Mahindra’s consistent ranking on CDP’s ‘A’ list for multiple years reflects our unwavering commitment to tackling critical global challenges,” said Sandeep Chandna, Chief Sustainability Officer at Tech Mahindra. “We are taking concrete steps to reduce our environmental impact through sustainable practices, carbon emission reduction, water conservation, and renewable energy investments.”
The company’s dedication to sustainability is evident in its ambitious goals: achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2035. Additionally, Tech Mahindra aims to increase its use of renewable energy sources to 90% by 2030. In the most recent fiscal year, they demonstrated significant progress, reducing their Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40%.
Tech Mahindra’s commitment extends beyond emissions reduction. The company has implemented strategies to conserve water, achieving a 30% reduction in water consumption in FY23. They have also earned several green certifications for their campuses and deployed over 5,600 water restrictors and sensors to optimize usage.
