EESL Partners with Telangana Woman Entrepreneur to Boost Energy Efficiency Adoption

Agreement with Padma Vadthya to establish retail franchises aims to make energy-efficient technologies more accessible and support India’s climate goals

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has signed an agreement with Padma Vadthya, a prominent woman entrepreneur from Telangana. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient technologies in the state by establishing retail franchises. The initiative seeks to make energy-efficient products more accessible to Telangana’s residents, contributing to India’s energy conservation and carbon footprint reduction goals.

Through this partnership, EESL will create a network of retail stores to distribute and promote energy efficiency solutions, including lighting, appliances, and building optimizations. By supporting women entrepreneurs like Padma Vadthya, EESL is fostering new avenues for technology adoption and promoting gender equality in the business sector.

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Animesh Mishra, CGM (Sales & PRCC) at EESL, stated, “EESL is proud to partner with trailblazing women entrepreneurs who exemplify the potential of women-led businesses in driving sustainable development. The agreement was signed by Shri Ravi Bhukiya, State Head for Telangana, in the presence of Mr. Animesh Mishra, Mr. Adesh Saxena (Retail Head, EESL), and Mr. Nikhelesh Kataria (Cluster Head, EESL). EESL’s dedication to promoting women’s empowerment is reflected in these initiatives, offering women the opportunity to lead and thrive in the energy efficiency sector. Additionally, EESL has partnered with M/s S. K. Electricals to further enhance energy efficiency adoption in the state.

Mrs. Padma Vadthya, a renowned entrepreneur and leader of a Self-Help Group (SHG) in Telangana, empowers 50-100 women members who assist in maintaining lighting infrastructure in Hyderabad. Her business portfolio also includes vehicle hiring services for state government offices. As the first woman entrepreneur to partner with EESL in India, this collaboration supports both state and central government initiatives, encouraging women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth. EESL’s commitment to women’s empowerment aims to elevate their socio-economic standing for a more inclusive economy.
