Geo-data specialist will provide ROVs, equipment, and expertise for cable laying, trenching, and survey operations.
Fugro, a provider of Geo-data solutions, has secured a significant long-term contract to support Van Oord’s offshore wind farm construction projects across Europe. The three-year agreement, with an option for extension, will see Fugro providing a range of services, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), construction equipment, expert personnel, and related support.
Fugro’s expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful and efficient execution of Van Oord’s offshore wind projects. The company will assist with cable laying, trenching, and survey operations, providing critical Geo-data to inform positioning and construction decisions. This will help de-risk the projects and optimize future operations.
To provide continuous support, Fugro will permanently station ROV spreads on Van Oord’s vessels, Calypso and Subsea Viking, for the duration of the contract. This ensures that the necessary resources are readily available to meet the demands of the offshore wind projects.
The latest contract award builds upon Fugro’s long-standing relationship with Van Oord. Over the years, Fugro has successfully delivered various services, including survey and positioning, metocean forecasting, UXO surveys, and geoconsultancy support.
Stuart Hamilton, Positioning and Construction Support Service Line Director at Fugro, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Van Oord as we work together towards a sustainable future. Our expertise and global reach will be invaluable in supporting Van Oord’s offshore wind developments and meeting the growing demand for renewable energy.”
