Runaya’s Sustainability Report 2024 Highlights Major Environmental and Social Achievements

With significant reductions in emissions, expansion of renewable energy, and global waste recycling initiatives, Runaya sets new benchmarks in sustainable manufacturing.

Runaya has released its Sustainability Report 2024, showcasing significant advancements in emission reduction, waste recycling, and renewable energy adoption. The report underscores the company’s commitment to responsible manufacturing and its efforts to integrate circular economy principles into industrial operations.

Key Environmental Milestones

In FY 2023-24, Runaya achieved:

  • A 62% reduction in emission intensity at its Telecom Grade FRP & ARP Rods Business and an 18% reduction at its Green Aluminium Recovery Business, achieved through energy efficiency initiatives and process optimizations.
  • Recovery of 14,321 metric tonnes of aluminium, minimizing landfill dependency and promoting circularity.
  • Zero liquid discharge across all facilities, ensuring sustainable water management.
  • Expansion in renewable energy adoption with 365 kW of installed solar power, with an additional 285 kW under development.
  • Recycling of over 20,000 metric tonnes of industrial waste, reducing environmental impact.

Social and Governance Initiatives

Runaya has also emphasized social inclusion and governance excellence:

  • 54.6% gender diversity in its permanent workforce, positioning itself as a leader in inclusive hiring within the manufacturing sector.
  • ₹1.17 crore in cost savings through the reuse of packaging materials, reinforcing the company’s resource efficiency.
  • CSR initiatives through Runaya Reach, positively impacting over 6,000 lives, with a focus on education and skill-building for adolescent girls in rural areas.

Future Goals and Global Expansion

Runaya aims to transition to 100% renewable energy by FY27 or earlier, aligning with its long-term decarbonization strategy. Additionally, the company is scaling its Green Aluminium Recovery model globally to enhance industrial waste recycling. The planned expansion of its Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) business is expected to meet the rising demand for sustainable telecom and infrastructure solutions.

Naivedya Agarwal, Co-Founder and MD of Runaya, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability, stating that its focus remains on integrating circular economy principles, advanced recycling technologies, and responsible resource utilization. He emphasized that sustainability is a core business strategy rather than a compliance requirement.
