Bisleri Partners with Indian Army in Sikkim to Develop Eco Zone for Plastic Waste Management

Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Army, Sikkim, to establish an Eco Zone for plastic waste management at Gangtok Military Station under its flagship initiative Bottles for Change (BFC). The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Letter of Association (LoA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of senior army officials and Bisleri representatives.

The initiative will ensure systematic collection, segregation, and recycling of post-consumer plastic waste from the military station. Beyond waste management, the partnership also focuses on awareness campaigns, behavioural change, and sustainable practices to encourage environmental responsibility.

Commenting on the association, Angelo George, CEO of Bisleri International, said:
“It is an honour for Bisleri to collaborate with the Indian Army at Gangtok Military Station. Through the Bottles for Change initiative, we are committed to supporting the Army’s efforts in developing the Eco Zone and creating a model of environmental responsibility. This partnership reflects our shared vision of sustainability and national pride.”

Situated in the pristine Himalayan landscape, Gangtok Military Station holds both strategic and cultural significance. With the integration of the BFC program, its new Eco Zone is expected to emerge as a model for sustainable development in the region.

This initiative is part of Bisleri’s Greener Promise, which focuses on forging impactful collaborations with communities, institutions, and government bodies to address plastic pollution. The partnership with the Indian Army underscores Bisleri’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth.
