GRE Renew Enertech Secures 1 MW Rooftop Solar Project at Rashtrapati Bhavan from SECI

SECI-awarded project to be developed under RESCO model, strengthening clean energy adoption in India’s public infrastructure

GRE Renew Enertech Limited has announced that it has been awarded a 1 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at Rashtrapati Bhavan by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), marking a significant step in expanding the use of renewable energy across key public institutions.

The project will be developed and operated under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, reinforcing the Government of India’s push for clean and sustainable energy adoption.

Under the RESCO framework, GRE Renew Enertech will undertake the complete responsibility for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the rooftop solar system, allowing the government entity to adopt solar power without any upfront capital investment.

Once commissioned, the project is expected to reduce Rashtrapati Bhavan’s reliance on conventional grid electricity and lower its carbon footprint.

According to the SECI brief, the scope of work includes design, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar power plant, along with comprehensive operations and maintenance services for a period of 25 years.

The O&M responsibilities will cover preventive and breakdown maintenance, module cleaning, replacement of defective components, insurance, online performance monitoring, and joint meter readings.

Commenting on the development, Kamlesh Patel, Managing Director of GRE Renew Enertech Limited, said the company is proud to be associated with a project of national importance and to contribute to the adoption of clean energy in public infrastructure.

The project underscores the growing role of rooftop solar solutions in supporting India’s long-term renewable energy and sustainability goals.
