Juniper Green Energy Commissions 105 MW Solar Plant, Bringing Clean Energy to 38,000 Homes
In a significant boost to India’s renewable energy ambitions, Juniper Green Energy announced the commissioning of the Jalkot Solar Power Project in Maharashtra. The 105-megawatt (MW) project, completed nearly nine months ahead of schedule, marks a major milestone for the company and the state.
“This project exemplifies Juniper Green Energy’s unwavering commitment to expanding India’s clean energy sector,” said a company spokesperson. The rapid completion, achieved through exceptional teamwork and dedication to sustainability, highlights Juniper Green Energy’s focus on efficiency and innovation.
The Jalkot Solar Power Project is poised to make a substantial impact on Maharashtra’s energy landscape. The project is expected to generate approximately 200 million units (MUs) of electricity annually, enough to power roughly 38,085 households. Furthermore, the clean energy produced by the plant is estimated to reduce Maharashtra’s carbon emissions by an impressive 178,569 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, commended his team’s efforts in achieving this remarkable feat. “The early commissioning of the Jalkot project is a testament to the exceptional work and dedication to sustainability by our team,” he said. “We are incredibly proud of the strides we are making in renewable energy and look forward to continuing on this path with unwavering spirit and innovation.”
The Jalkot Solar Power Project is underpinned by a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This agreement ensures long-term stability for the project and underscores Juniper Green Energy’s commitment to providing clean and reliable power to the region.
The successful completion of the Jalkot Solar Power Project is a positive development for India’s clean energy sector. It demonstrates the growing viability and competitiveness of renewable energy sources, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
