The collaboration aims to advance South Korea’s RE100 initiative, accelerating the country’s transition to renewable energy.
Trina Solar, a prominent solar energy solutions provider, has entered into a partnership with two South Korean firms to develop 100 megawatts (MW) of solar power projects by the end of 2025. This initiative aims to bolster the RE100 movement in South Korea, a global campaign advocating for businesses to commit to 100% renewable energy.
Trina Solar signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CSC Energy, a renewable energy consultancy, and SolarTEQ, a company specializing in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC). The collaboration harnesses the strengths of each partner: Trina Solar will supply advanced solar panel technology, CSC Energy will offer project development and financial and technical support, and SolarTEQ will handle the procurement of solar modules and other essential components.
“This MOU presents a major opportunity for Trina Solar to support the growing RE100 initiative in South Korea,” said Li Na, Trina Solar’s Asia Pacific General Manager for Israel, Japan, and Korea. “By leveraging our collective expertise with our local partners, we are confident in our ability to develop and deliver successful solar projects that fulfill the requirements of RE100 companies, thus speeding up South Korea’s transition to renewable energy.”
South Korea has ambitious sustainability targets, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. This partnership aligns with these goals by helping companies meet their RE100 commitments and transition to clean energy sources.
