Sunsure Energy Commissions 20 MW Solar Plants in Karnataka

Sunsure Energy announced commissioning of their largest turnkey solar plant project  – a 20 MW (15 MW + 5 MW) Solar Power Plant .

Situated in the Harpanhalli Taluka of Davangeri District, this project is spread over 75 acres of land and will generate enough clean energy to power more than 8,000 urban households in Karnataka every year for the next 25 years.

This energy will be delivered to BESCOM and HESCOM – two of the largest distribution companies in Karnataka – who will in-turn, distribute this to a host of industrial, residential and agricultural consumers of electricity in the State.

Sunsure Energy led the development of these plants right from the competitive bidding stage through land acquisition and clearances all the way to successfully synchronizing the plants with the Grid.

Sunsure Energy is now tasked with ensuring these plants perform optimally. Sunsure will be deploying its operations & maintenance systems at both the sites in FY19.

As a company, delivering a fulfilling turnkey experience to our developer clients at this scale, gives us immense confidence. Our thanks go out to all stakeholders involved – the development and execution teams, members of KPTCL, BESCOM, HESCOM and KERC, the Harpanhalli community members and landowners – who contributed to making this project a success,” said Manish Mehta, Director of Business Development at Sunsure Energy.

Working in Karnataka has been a great learning experience and we aim to continue building solar plants in the State. The lessons learned in this journey will be enablers in our next phase of growth in the State and Nationwide,” added Shantanu Faugaat, Director of Operations at Sunsure Energy.
