Walt Disney World Resort is gearing up to install another 50 MW solar project to power two of its four theme solar park in Central Florida. Walt Disney has partnered with Origis Energy USA and the Reedy Creek Improvement District for another 50MW solar project.
The solar project spread over 270 acres and consist of half a million solar panels, installed near Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Construction work is expected to start in the coming months and the solar park is seen to be completed by the end of the year.
The Walt Disney Company has set a goal to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2020 as compared to 2012.
