BHEL Trichy has reportedly added e-mobility to its business portfolio. According to TOI the company has already started the process of prototype development and obtaining necessary certifications to foray into e-mobility segment to capitalise on the emerging business opportunities.
During the Independence Day celebrations R Rajamanohar, executive director, BHEL Trichy shared the policy discussion.
The publication citing official sources noes that BHEL would aggressively focus on revamping its infrastructure and operations to produce e-mobility products.
To address the growing needs in the mass transportation sector of e-mobility, the company may take up large scale production of non-conventional vehicles by utilising its expertise in heavy engineering and fabrication sectors notes the publication in its report.
BHEL Trichy is reorganising and redeploying resources in line with the corporate strategic plan to increase the current share of non-coal business from 30% to 50% in the next five years, said Rajamanohar.
BHEL’s welding research institute is expected to play significant role in the company’s foray into e-mobility sector.
