Intersolar India opens its door to more than 17000 business professionals and 300 exhibitors

 Intersolar India Exhibition and Conference opened its doors on Tuesday until December 13, 2018 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, providing a platform for all industry professionals to meet,exchange, discuss challenges and solutions and promote the interest of the solar, energy storage and electric mobility industry. In this year’s event more than 17,000 international visitors are expected and 300 exhibitors are showcasing their latest products and solutions in Hall 1 and 2 of the BIEC.From special forums to workshops and an extensive conference, this year’s show will be powered by special activities. The Intersolar Conference program is packed with exciting and diversified topics. More than 1000 conference delegates can expect sessions and workshops on the Indian PV market, India’s National Storage Mission, battery and PV manufacturing, executive panel discussion on renewable energy, solar rooftop and residential solar PV, PV quality assurance, agro-PV, floating PV, energy storage, mini-/micro-grids and many more. At the end of the first exhibition day VIPs, conference delegates and exhibitors are invited to join the 10th Anniversary Networking Reception and Solar Power Developers Night.

Opening Ceremony kicked off the 10th Anniversary of Intersolar India

The official Opening Ceremony has kicked off the 10th Anniversary of Intersolar India on December 11 in the BIEC Conference Centre. It comprised keynote speeches of government officials and solar experts. The Lamp Light Ceremony welcomed Mr. Darpan Jain, Commissioner for Industrial Development& Director of Industries & Commerce, Mr. H M Revanna Gowda, Managing Director of Karnataka Udyog Mitra, Mr. Philippe Müller, Head of Cleantech ofthe Swiss Federal Office of Energy, Dr. Harikumar Ramadas, Director of the Agency for Non-conventional Energy & Rural Technology (ANERT), Government of Kerala and Mr. Peter Schmid, Consul and the head of administration of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Highlights on the first exhibition and conference day

More than 300 exhibitors present their innovations andlatest product introductions to more than 17,000 business professionals that will be welcomed during the next 3 event days. On the first event day on December 11, 2018, the Intersolar India Conference covered market outlooks for solar, energy storage and renewable energy with sessions on India`s mid-term solar PV demand outlook, new rooftop policy, National Storage Mission and executive panel on India`s renewable energy future. Solar professionals will have the opportunity to gain skills in solar PV by attending a 2-Day Solar PV Intensive course provided by the US specialist Sean White from White House Solar. Various knowledge partners like swissnex India, Fraunhofer ISE and the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) are offering workshops on battery manufacturing, solar rooftop solutions, building energy efficiency and PV manufacturing and quality assurance and standards. Further Intersolar India supports students and young future entrepreneurs by gaining access to current industry knowledge free of charge presented by high-profile speakers at Intersolar India’s Study Program. The Innovation Stage (Hall 2, Booth 2064)will offers free of charge presentations. The India Energy Storage Alliance(IESA) presented on smart renewable energy – electrical energy storage advancements. Skill Council for Green Jobs presented on mitigating risks through quality assurance, capacity building & emerging skills and invited to a subsequent Award Ceremony at 4:30 pm. At the end of the successful exhibition and conference day, VIPS, exhibitors, conference delegates andvisiting business professionals are invited to join the 10th Anniversary Networking Reception – Solar Power Developers Night at 5:30 pm in the BIEC Conference Lunch Area. On Wednesday December 12, 2018, the Intersolar India Conference will cover topics on project development, residential solar PV -self-consumption + storage, C&I solar rooftop business-prospects,technological advancements of trackers, achieving excellence in solar rooftop installations, India’s potential, policies and prospects of floating PV,on-grid mini/micro-grids, agro-PV, India’s solar pumping programme and on solar-wind hybrid with storage. Mercom India will present its exclusive whitepaper on the Indian solar market during the introduction of the session C&I solar rooftop business-prospects. The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) will offer a full-day workshop on solar + energy storage beginning at 10:15 am. The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) will hold a half-day workshop onIndia’s status and prospects on quality assurance and standardization of solar technologies starting at 10:30 am. Furthermore visitors are invited to attend all presentations of the Innovation Stage (Hall 2, Booth 2064) free of charge,covering PV production trends and challenges as well as numerous presentations by exhibitors on their product innovations.

Highlights on the last exhibition and conference day

On Thursday December 13, 2018, the Alliance for Rural Electrification will provide a workshop on microgrids and TERI – the Energy and Resource Institute offers a workshop on de-risking international investments in the Indian solar energy sector. Furthermore, the 1st India Africa Youth Energy Symposium (IAYES) welcomes youth from the Indian and African continent to deliberate, discuss, design and implement sustainable energy projects to address the energy access issues in their respective countries. Also on the last exhibition day the Innovation Stage (Hall 2, Booth 2064) will offer free of charge presentations by Solar 101 on solar installations and understanding optimizers for shadow, monitoring and safety.
