Vikram Solar has bagged a project order from Hindustan Zinc Limited to develop 1 MW Floating solar plant.
The floating solar plan will be be located at Ghosunda Dam, Near Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This would be company’s 2nd floating solar project after its first floating solar plant developed in 2015 in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The company in a statement said that the project will be one of the first MW-scale Floating projects in India for the Indian Private sector.
The floating plant will contribute to saving water evaporation loss, thus resulting in conservation of water, reduce the development of algae, maintaining cleanliness of the water, and will obviously save land space.
Vikram Solar will use its 330 Wp 72-cell ELDORA Polycrystalline modules for the installation. The floating solar project is expected to be commissioned by July 2019.
The solar plant is expected to have an energy yield of 1993 MWh/year and would be able to power 1400 houses/year.
