Panasonic on Wednesday launched its electric vehicle charging solution in India named as Nymbus in India.
Nymbus consists of physical components, like charging stations, battery swap stations, onboard chargers, and telematics systems. It also consists of virtual components, like cloud services, analytics, and an intuitive user dashboard said the company in a statement.
Panasonic has joined hands with electric mobility service providers’ Smart E and Quick to deploy the EV charging solution for 150 Smart E electric three-wheelers and on 25 quick two-wheelers in the Delhi NCR region.
The service developed with an investment of Rs 50 crore, will be launched in cities like Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Amaravati in the next three years to cater 10,000 electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
Atul Arya, Head of Energy Systems Division at Panasonic India said “Conceptualized and developed in-house, our charging service is currently meant for two and three wheelers, but we aim to expand that in the near future to other vehicles. We have currently deployed our solutions in Delhi NCR and aim to expand the offerings to Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Amaravati in the next three years and 25 more cities in the next five years (catering to) targeting approximately 1 million vehicles.”
The service could potentially have use cases for electric vehicle fleet owners, e-commerce, food-tech, and logistics companies to manage their fleet more efficiently.
