Sushil Reddy, an IIT Bombay alumnus, initiated a movement back in 2016 called ‘The SunPedal Ride’ for greener and cleaner future, and managed to enter Guinness Books of World Records and Limca World Record for the longest journey on a solar-powered electric bicycle.
After travelling across the world and showcasing the solar powered bicycle Sushil is bringing back the campaign to India , but this time it termed as SunPedal Ride – Golden quadrilateral.
Starting on 25th May 2019 from Bengaluru, a team of four people -Sushil Reddy, Pallavi Siddhanta, Ruthvik Arya and Sudheer Lekkala will be going on a journey of 6000 kilometres in 60 days along the golden quadrilateral route in the clockwise direction covering four major cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai
This is a journey on a retrofitted solar powered electric auto rickshaw (tuk-tuk).
Throughout the journey, the team will be discussing with locals and stakeholders about the importance of electric vehicles, clean energy and sustainability in a world which is deeply threatened by climate change.
Other major cities along the road are – Pune, Surat, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Vizag, Nellore and Vellore.
