ICAT and IESA brings together 3rd International Electric Vehicle conclave

The Electric Vehicle (EV) sector is rising in India and after the sops announced in Budget 2019, it can be a game-changer for the industry.

The infrastructure development of EVs has become the need of the hour even though being at a nascent stage. Global companies are expressing immense interest in this space. In this regard, IESA and ICAT are jointly organizing 3rd International EV conclave on 9th Aug 2019.

This will be a unique platform to interact, discuss & network with Auto OEMs, Battery Manufacturers, charging Infra providers, Power train, BMS, EV Software providers & government officials. All participants will be part of ICAT Lab visit to see battery validation and electric vehicle testing facility. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises will inaugurate the EV Conclave while Pravin Agarwal, Joint Secretary,Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) will be the Guest of Honor for the inauguration session.

Debi Prasad Dash, Executive Director, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) says, “As India is entering into new evolution of EV, there is a strong opportunity for Indian conglomerates to diversify and for global companies to enter Indian EV ecosystem as EV manufacturers, component providers, advance battery suppliers to facilitate charging infrastructure in India. This sector will also create new entrepreneurship environment in India and job opportunities with a new skill requirement. IESA estimates the market potential for electric vehicles would be around 77 million till 2030 which translates to cumulative demand of 750 GWh by 2030.”

MOVE – Moving Onwards Vehicle Electrification is a new initiative by IESA to help India move towards vehicle electrification and build a robust ecosystem for EV manufacturing & adoption. IESA is working with various stakeholders in the mobility sector to address barriers and focus on the aspects related to batteries for EVs and charging infrastructure. MOVE’s objective is to drive the interests of the electric vehicle, charging infrastructure and battery manufacturing sector.
