New Town, Kolkata is all set to embrace the environment friendly technology with the installation of electric vehicle charging station.
Lithium Urban Technologies and Fourth Partner Energy with HIDCO will set up an EV charging station at New Town, Kolkata under the new brand Powerbunk.
According to the official statement this will be India’s largest public charging station.
Lithium also plans to roll out 1000 EVs in Kolkata in 2-3 years’ time with an investment of Rs 150 Crore to enable the transition of corporates diesel vehicles to green wheels.

Rakhi Basu, Transport Expert, World Bank said, “Lithium’s expansion to Kolkata goes beyond scaling up sustainable mobility and can be seen as green recovery from the pandemic.”
The partnership is expected to create more than 3000+ direct and indirect jobs in the state of Kolkata.
