Sembcorp’s 60MW floating solar project in Singapore is now online

Singapore-based energy company Sembcorp Industries’ 60MW floating solar project in Singapore is now  in commercial operation.

The 60 MW floating solar photovoltaic system on Tengeh Reservoir in Singapore that uses 12,556 Trina Solar 210 Vertex dual-glass modules -was recently connected to the grid.

Construction of this project commenced in June 2020 and is expected to remain in commercial operation for more than 25 years,

The floating solar PV system will generate 77,259,302/Kwh each year and will offset about 57,777 tons of carbon emissions annually.

Trina Solar’s 210 Vertex modules are manufactured based on 210mm diameter big-size silicon wafers.

The PPA was signed in May last year and construction started in August, with Sembcorp using corrosion-resistant floats that are said to be of food-grade quality.
