Greenko orders John Cockerill 28 Electrolyzers to increase Hydrogen production

Greenko Group announced that John Cockerill from Belgium will provide 28 5MW alkaline electrolyzer units for Greenko’s green ammonia plant in Una, Himachal Pradesh.

The electrolyzers will increase hydrogen production capacity to 140MW through high-pressure alkaline electrolysis, with a purity level of 99.999%. The electrolyzers are expected to be delivered in March 2024, with the plant scheduled to be commissioned by June 2024.

This order aligns with the strategic partnership agreement between Greenko and John Cockerill, signed in March 2022, to advance the creation of a green hydrogen ecosystem in India. As part of the agreement, John Cockerill and Greenko are also building a 2 GW/year electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
