Adani Green Energy’s Subsidiary Successfully Commissions 130 MW Wind Power Plant in Gujarat

The new plant marks a major milestone for AGEL in expanding its renewable energy portfolio and contributing to India’s clean energy goals.

Adani Wind Energy Kutchh Five Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy has announced the successful commissioning of a 130 MW Wind Power Plant in Kutchh, Gujarat. This development marks a significant milestone for AGEL in its efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio.

Under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI), the plant will operate at a rate of Rs. 2.83/kWh. This agreement solidifies AGEL’s commitment to generating clean energy and contributing to India’s renewable energy targets.

AGEL stated in a press release that the commissioning of this plant has increased its operational wind generation capacity to 1,101 MW and its total operational renewable generation capacity to 8,216 MW. This progress brings AGEL closer to achieving its ambitious goal of reaching a total capacity of 45 GW by 2030.

The newly commissioned plant will be overseen by the Adani Group’s advanced ‘Energy Network Operation Centre’ (ENOC) platform. This intelligent system has consistently supported AGEL in achieving superior operational performance across its diverse renewable portfolio located throughout India.

AGEL emphasized that its projects are aligned with the objective of sustainability and economic development. By creating job opportunities and promoting decarbonization, the company is actively contributing to India’s commitment to combat climate change, as demonstrated at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.

The successful commissioning of the 130 MW Wind Power Plant in Kutchh represents another significant step forward for AGEL in its journey towards becoming a leader in the renewable energy sector
