Bengaluru-based startup expands R&D capabilities and production capacity for flagship electric performance motorcycle
Orxa Energies, a Bengaluru-based startup specializing in high-performance electric vehicles and energy systems, has unveiled its new facility in the Bommasandra Industrial area.
Spread across an expansive one-acre space, the facility serves as a hub for research and development activities, Mantis assembly stations, battery assembly lines, and a product testing center. Notably, this new facility has a capacity ten times larger than its predecessor.
The establishment of this joint R&D and production facility marks a significant milestone for Orxa Energies, as it enables the company to leverage its in-house engineering talent to enhance vehicle technology, production methods, and assembly processes for Orxa motorcycles. The timing of the announcement aligns with the upcoming launch of Mantis, the company’s flagship electric performance motorcycle.
Ranjita Ravi, Co-Founder of Orxa Energies, expressed enthusiasm about the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem in India, stating, “The EV revolution in India is touching new heights, and the ecosystem we see is growing by the year. 2023 is a critical year for us, finally bringing the Mantis to the people. We are excited to share the engineering marvel that we have developed in-house with our engineering team.”
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Orxa Energies has constructed the new facility with a focus on eco-conscious practices. The facility features a vehicle test track made from recycled plastic and an EcoSTP (Ecological Sewage Treatment Plant) to minimize its environmental impact. The campus also implements an onsite composting system and rigorous recycling processes to reduce waste generation. Additionally, the facility has installed EV charging stations for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, further promoting the adoption of electric vehicles.
Dr. Prajwal Sabnis, Co-Founder of Orxa Energies, emphasized the significance of the new facility in preparing the Mantis and other Orxa offerings for discerning customers. He stated, “The substantial investments made towards building this facility reinforce our journey towards preparing the Mantis and other Orxa offerings for demanding customers. Over the years, we have been actively improving our product offerings, making the Mantis equivalent to the best-in-class ICE motorcycle.”
With its state-of-the-art facility and a steadfast commitment to sustainable practices, Orxa Energies is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle industry, particularly with the imminent launch of their flagship electric performance motorcycle, Mantis
