Gujarat-based Company Aims to Increase Capacity from 2.5 GW to 6 GW by 2025
Gujarat-based solar company Goldi Solar has recently announced a substantial investment of over Rs 5,000 crore to expand its module manufacturing capacity.
According to the company’s managing director, Ishver Dholakiya, this investment will result in a significant increase in capacity, from the current 2.5 GW to 6 GW.
The expansion plans will primarily focus on auxiliary production, including the manufacturing of aluminium frames, junction boxes, backsheet, and other components related to renewable energy. It is projected that the investment will be completed by the year 2025.
Goldi Solar not only plans to expand its manufacturing capacity but also aims to strengthen its workforce. Dholakiya revealed that the company intends to hire more than 4,500 individuals across various functions, thereby increasing its total workforce to over 5,500 by FY25. In a commitment to the local community, Goldi Solar plans to recruit 25% of its workforce from the tribal regions surrounding its proposed manufacturing facility. To accomplish this goal, the company will conduct a three-month certification program at a skill development center.
To support the development of skilled professionals in the solar manufacturing sector, Goldi Solar has partnered with L&T Public Charitable. This collaboration will facilitate the training of individuals in solar manufacturing, enhancing their employability in the industry.
Currently, Goldi Solar operates two module manufacturing plants located in the Pipodara and Navsari districts of Gujarat. The investment plan includes the establishment of cell manufacturing units as well, with the initial cell manufacturing capacity expected to reach 5 GW.
Through these ambitious expansion plans, Goldi Solar aims to strengthen its position in the renewable energy sector and contribute to India’s clean energy goals.
