Minister of State Highlights Achievements and Ambitious Goals at South Asia Forum for Distributed Energy 2023
Bhagwanth Khuba, Hon’ble Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Chemicals and Fertilizers, inaugurated the 2023 South Asia Forum for Distributed Energy (SAFDE23) in New Delhi.
He highlighted India’s achievement of household electrification and its commitment to generating 500 GW through renewable energy by 2030. The theme of SAFDE23 is public-private collaboration, aiming to unlock the potential of Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) for improving livelihoods and energy access.
Partners like MNRE, CLASP, IKEA Foundation, and International Solar Alliance are working together with GOGLA to drive dialogue on DRE’s economic development potential.
The event emphasizes derisking financing and innovative solutions like carbon financing. Collaborative efforts aim to integrate policy, market, and technology for mainstreaming distributed renewable energy solutions.
