Technology Development Board (TDB) Joins Forces with Aloe Ecell Pvt. Ltd. for Eco-Friendly Battery Innovation

Strategic Alliance to Propel Sustainable Innovation and Environmentally Responsible Battery Technology

In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mission LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative, the Technology Development Board (TDB) has proudly announced its partnership with the innovative startup, Aloe Ecell Pvt. Ltd., based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This collaboration stands as a beacon of progress, echoing the Prime Minister’s call for sustainable practices and indigenous creativity.

TDB, unwavering in its commitment to support innovative solutions aligned with ‘Mission LiFE,’ is extending its support to Aloe Ecell’s project, “Commercialization of Eco-friendly-1.5V AA size Aloe Vera-based batteries.” With a project valuation of Rs. 2.98 crores, TDB’s substantial contribution of Rs. 1.91 crores as a soft loan is set to amplify the project’s potential to drive eco-friendly innovation to new heights.

Aloe Ecell’s groundbreaking approach involves the development of an eco-friendly 1.5V AA size battery, potentially replacing conventional batteries laden with heavy metals and toxic chemicals. Leveraging the natural properties of Aloe Vera, Aloe Ecell has formulated an electrolyte that not only matches the performance of established market standards but also champions environmental responsibility. The company will establish facilities for commercial battery production in Bundi, Rajasthan.

The core objective of this project perfectly aligns with ‘Mission LiFE,’ aiming to introduce lifestyle choices in harmony with ecological well-being. By pioneering eco-friendly primary batteries, Aloe ECell aims to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment while addressing long-standing concerns associated with toxic components in conventional batteries.

Aloe ECell’s remarkable journey has already garnered recognition, including the National Startup Award in the Energy Sector 2020 by Startup India under DPIIT, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, and the Global Winners 2019 award by Schneider Electric.
