The Premier Renewable Energy Event Unites Global Leaders in Green Innovation
Windergy India 2023, the highly anticipated trade fair and conference in the renewable energy sector, is poised to take Chennai by storm from 4 to 6 October 2023 at the Chennai Trade Centre.
This event follows closely on the heels of the G20 Summit held in New Delhi, where world leaders showcased their unwavering commitment to harnessing trade and investment as drivers of economic growth.
In an historic declaration, G20 leaders acknowledged the pivotal role of startups and Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in spurring economic expansion. The G20 – 2023 agenda underscores the importance of securing a sustainable future, embracing green development, and spearheading the transition towards green energy.
The vision of ‘Vasudeva Kudumbakam’ or ‘One Nation, One Life, and One Future’ as articulated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India is now resonating globally. This initiative has gained international traction with India and Saudi Arabia signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to link their National Power Grids via an undersea interlink.
India, already a global wind power leader, continues its remarkable journey in the renewable energy landscape. As of June 30, 2023, India’s installed wind power capacity has surpassed an impressive 43,773 MW, solidifying its position as the fourth-largest wind power producer in the world. Beyond meeting renewable energy goals, the wind energy sector has provided tangible socio-economic benefits. Wind farms have spurred job creation, especially in rural areas, during both construction and operation phases. Additionally, wind energy has played a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy security, and providing access to clean electricity.
The Indian government has set ambitious targets, aiming to double its Renewable Energy (RE) capacity from 175 GW in 2022 to a monumental 450 GW by 2030. Offshore wind energy is gaining momentum, with significant potential for capacity expansion along India’s coastlines. Central and state governments are actively collaborating to develop a policy and regulatory framework that streamlines the sector’s growth, ensures environmental sustainability, and attracts investments.
Technological advancements have paved the way for larger wind turbines with higher capacities, leading to substantial growth in wind power projects across the nation.
Windergy India, the premier industry platform dedicated to the wind energy sector through a trade fair and conference, is poised to showcase its immense potential and lucrative opportunities from October 4 to 6, 2023, at the Chennai Trade Centre. The event will emphasize the critical role of technology and innovation and unite industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators to explore the latest trends, technologies, and business prospects in the field.
