Collaborative MOU Signed to Advance Sustainable Finance in India

NTPC School of Business (NSB) and Climate Policy Initiative India (CPI India) have taken a significant step towards advancing clean energy and sustainable finance in India. On October 3, 2023, in New Delhi, the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate in assisting the country’s energy transition.

Dr. Rajeshwari Narendran, Director of NTPC School of Business, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing its importance.

She stated, “We are delighted to join hands with CPI India in this endeavor. This MOU reflects our shared commitment to advancing knowledge and solutions that would support the process of energy transition in India. We at NSB are committed to achieving the NetZero goal and SDGs in sync with the targets set by our promoter NTPC and the Government of India.”

Under the MOU framework, NSB and CPI India will engage in various activities, including research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, training programs, and co-creating knowledge products related to energy transition. Their research will focus on understanding the risks and opportunities associated with energy transition, promoting energy security through low-carbon technology solutions, and exploring the complexities of climate finance.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Dhruba Purkayastha, Director at CPI India, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “We look forward to being a useful partner to NSB for accelerating India’s transition towards a cleaner and sustainable energy future. Together, we will harness our collective knowledge and resources for scaling up clean energy and increasing sustainable finance in India.”

This MOU signing ceremony on October 3, 2023, marks the beginning of a collaborative journey between NSB and CPI India, aiming to facilitate the energy transition in India and contribute to a cleaner and sustainable energy future.
