India’s Leading Solar Module Manufacturer to Power ENGIE’s Sayla Village Project in Gujarat
In a significant development, Waaree Energies Ltd., India’s leading PV solar module manufacturer, has been granted a mandate from ENGIE India for the supply of 200 MW of solar modules. These modules will be utilized in a solar power project located in Sayla village, within the Surendra Nagar district of Gujarat.
ENGIE India, a subsidiary of the globally renowned ENGIE Group, is spearheading the development of the Sayla village project, officially designated as GUVNL 2. This initiative operates under a 25-year solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL).
Waaree Energies Ltd. boasts an impressive distinction as the sole Indian solar module manufacturer to consistently secure a Tier 1 rating from BloombergNEF for an impressive 35 consecutive quarters. The company’s modules are known for their exceptional bankability and reliability, further solidifying their status as a preferred supplier for solar power projects, both in India and on a global scale.

The supply mandate between Waaree and ENGIE is set to kick off in November of this year and is scheduled for completion by February 2024. The 200 MW of AHNAY 545 Wp Bifacial modules to be provided by Waaree for the Sayla village project is projected to generate an impressive 34 crore units of electricity annually, marking a significant step in India’s renewable energy journey.
